What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Manager position at Edward Teach Brewing?
About Us
Edward Teach Brewing is not your average brewery. We’re an award-winning craft brewery based in Wilmington, NC, committed to creating exceptional brews that not only taste amazing but also tell a story. Our beers have earned rave reviews from the community, and now, we’re looking for a Distribution Manager who can help us elevate our brand even further across Eastern North Carolina.
If you’re someone with a proven track record in beverage distribution (especially in beer), we want to talk to you. But let’s be clear—this role isn’t for everyone. We’ve seen plenty of resumes from candidates who don’t have the specific experience we need. If you don’t have experience in the beer distribution vertical, we respectfully ask that you hold off on applying. This role requires industry-specific knowledge and a demonstrated ability to drive sales in the beverage space. We’re here to hire a pro, not train one.
The Opportunity
As our Distribution Manager, you’ll be at the helm of our expansion efforts across Eastern NC. You’ll manage a team of 5 high-performing sales representatives, help grow our customer base, and drive distribution in the market. The position offers tangible growth potential and competitive rewards, including base salary and commission structure, making it a win-win for someone with the right experience and drive.
In addition to the challenge of leading a successful team, you’ll have the chance to make a real impact on our business trajectory. This is a role for someone who thrives on results, takes pride in seeing their efforts pay off, and is motivated by performance-driven rewards.
What You’ll Do:
* Lead with Impact: You’ll manage a team of 5 sales reps—training, coaching, and driving them to hit goals, close deals, and take ownership of the Eastern NC market.
* Own Distribution Strategy: Your expertise will shape our distribution strategy, ensuring our beers are available in the right places, with the right partners, and at the right time.
* Build and Grow Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and accounts. You’ll be responsible for not only growing our beer’s presence but also ensuring long-term, sustainable partnerships.
* Drive Sales Success: Set ambitious sales targets and crush them. As a performance-driven role, your compensation will be directly tied to your success—the more you sell, the more you earn.
* Analyze & Adapt: Constantly monitor performance, industry trends, and competitor activity. Stay agile and adapt strategies to stay ahead of the curve.
* Collaborate: Work closely with marketing, production, and leadership teams to align strategies, execute promotions, and launch new products in the market.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven Expertise in Beverage Distribution: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in beverage distribution, specifically within the beer industry. If you’ve successfully grown brands, built relationships, and driven sales, this is for you.
* Leadership That Delivers: You’ve led teams before and know how to motivate, coach, and hold people accountable to their targets.
* Industry Know-How: You’re familiar with the intricacies of the craft beer industry—how to build distribution networks, navigate regulatory hurdles, and drive brand awareness in a competitive space.
* Results-Driven: You’re hungry for success. You understand that results speak louder than anything else—and you’ve got the track record to prove it.
* A Relationship Builder: You know how to foster lasting, high-value relationships with key accounts and distribution partners.
* Self-Motivated & Proactive: This is a role where autonomy is key. You’re the type of person who doesn’t need constant direction—you take the ball and run with it.
Why Edward Teach Brewing?
* Performance-Based Compensation: Enjoy a competitive base salary plus the ability to earn generous commissions based on your success.
* Tangible Growth Opportunities: We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us. You’ll have opportunities to advance as we continue to expand our presence across the region.
* Award-Winning Beer: You’ll be working with a product that people love. As an award-winning brewery, our beers have earned a reputation for quality, and you’ll be proud to sell them.
* Comprehensive Benefits: We’ve got you covered with Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, a 401(k) plan, profit sharing, and vacation so you can take care of yourself and your family.
