Job Title: Sawmill Assistant Manager
Supervisor: Operations Manager
Summary: Responsible for providing direct supervision and leadership to team members to support operations of the mill. Manage and supervise the flow of softwood lumber through prescribed practices and established procedures in order to maintain continuous production on a consistent basis and maintain quality and safety daily as top priority. Supervise staging of grade logs while maintaining inventory. Follow established prescribed procedures and methods, maintain a constant flow of production through the Sawmill in order to reach maximum production output. Maintain quality, prescribed lumber size at all times during daily production process, air quality and storm water permitting requirements. Supervise and coordinate all Saw Mill Personnel to include scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance while using good judgement in determining regular or overtime hours needed to meet productions goals and time tables. Schedule and maintain preventative maintenance and good house-keeping in a clean and orderly fashion, railcars and trucking by-products needs. Maintain required production records and personnel records.

1. Mill Manager Experience Required.

5. Dedicated to maintaining commitment to quality.
6. Detailed oriented with a focus on results.
7. The ability to balance multiple tasks along with strong communication skills also including providing an overall team atmosphere.
8. Excellent measurement and shop math.
9. High School plus additional specialized training.
10. Knowledge of labor laws and company policies and procedures.
11. Maintain clean and orderly work area
12. Must be willing to work flexible work schedules to be available nights, weekends, and after hours if necessary.
13. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Application (Outlook, Word, Excel).
14. Other duties as assigned.
