Edwardsburg Public Schools, a National Blue Ribbon district, is accepting applications for a dynamic, energetic Secondary Math Teacher For the 25-26 School Yearwho maintains a positive learning environment, effectively holds high academic expectations, creates a student-centered classroom while building rapport with students, parents, and staff. Coaching options may be available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The person selected for this position will be the one who offers the best combination of training, experience and attributes in accordance with the following:
A. Must meet State of Michigan Certification requirements to teach Secondary Math – EX required; Successful experience as a secondary teacher, student teacher, or substitute teacher.
B. Knowledge of scope and sequence of curriculum.
C. Ability to recognize and respond to individual differences.
D. Ability to implement a variety of instructional and assessment methods.
E. Good interpersonal and classroom management skills.
F. Demonstrated interest in personal professional development.
G. Experience as a collaborative team participant.
H. Complete (at applicant’s expense) State-mandated Criminal Background Check.
DUTIES:
A. Plan and deliver the Michigan Academic Mathematics Standards –using evidence-based instructional strategies
B. Provide and maintain an orderly classroom environment
C. Possess a working knowledge of formative and summative assessment strategies that align with the Michigan Academic Standards and can be used to monitor student achievement and growth
D. Work independently and cooperatively in all aspects of the job
E. Perform other duties as assigned by administrator
F. Experience with Google Classroom a plus
