We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic to join our team and support the safe and efficient operation of our wastewater treatment facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations on a wide range of plant equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, and other systems critical to water and wastewater operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment in wastewater treatment plants and lift stations
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform corrective repairs to minimize downtime
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on pumps, compressors, valves, piping, gearboxes, and other related machinery
- Operate and maintain tools, hoists, and other lifting equipment safely
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with plant operators, electricians, and engineers to support overall facility operations
- Participate in emergency on-call rotation as needed
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred
- 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in wastewater, water treatment, or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, gearboxes, mechanical seals, and related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings
- Basic welding, fabrication, or pipefitting skills a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights when required
