Screen and Pad Printing Setup Maintenance Technician

As a Screen and Pad Printing Setup/Maintenance Technician at EEP Quality Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our screen and pad printing equipment. You will be responsible for setting up and calibrating screen and pad printing machinery, as well as performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to our ability to deliver high-quality printing services to our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate screen and pad printing equipment according to job specifications, ensuring accurate alignment and registration of screens, pads, substrates, and inks.

2. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on screen and pad printing machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

3. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and technical issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity. This may involve repairing or replacing faulty components, adjusting settings, or troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

4. Quality Control: Monitor print quality throughout production runs, making adjustments as needed to maintain consistency and accuracy. Conduct periodic quality checks to ensure that printed goods meet specified standards.

5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of setup, maintenance, and repair activities, as well as any adjustments or modifications made to equipment. Provide regular reports to management on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and any issues encountered.

6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating and maintaining screen and pad printing equipment. Identify and address any safety hazards or concerns related to equipment operation.

7. Training and Support: Provide training and support to production staff on proper equipment setup, operation, and maintenance procedures. Share knowledge and best practices to improve overall efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Education)

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in screen and pad printing or related field preferred.

· Proven experience in setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of screen and pad printing equipment, including presses, ovens, and auxiliary assembly press equipment.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.

· Knowledge of screen and pad printing processes, including screen preparation, pad preparation, ink mixing, and curing techniques.

· Familiarity with various substrates and inks used in screen and pad printing, as well as relevant safety practices and regulations.

· Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail using structured problem-solving methodologies.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

· Flexibility to work non-standard hours and respond to production demands and maintenance issues as needed.

· Tooling, screen and pad design experience preferred.
