Role: Basketball Camp-Activity Leader-Summer 2025
Location: Pasadena, CA
Compensation: $18-$21 / hour-Based on Experience

The Role:
The Basketball Camp Activity Leader plans, implements, and supervises all aspects of the Basketball Camp, providing a safe, engaging, and welcoming basketball experience for students. In this role, you will lead and actively engage in a safe, organized, meaningful, enriching, and fun basketball program for groups of international summer students, primarily aged 13-17.
Your key tasks will consist of, but not be limited to:
- Implementing age-appropriate, safe, and enriching basketball activities utilizing coaching and facilitation skills with groups of 10-40 students.
- Supervising all Basketball Camp practices, activities, and events.
- Participating and assisting in running camp and program events and initiatives.
- Accompanying students on field trips and off-campus excursions, including to UCLA Pauley Pavilion.
- Communicating regularly with the direct supervisor regarding concerns, updates, challenges, and successes.
- Monitoring daily attendance and keeping up-to-date records and paperwork.
- Attending all leader meetings.
- Address any problems and emergencies should they arise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training and demonstrated knowledge of principles and techniques of basketball in order to coach younger players in the sport of basketball.
- Understand Basketball-specific rules, principles, moves, and strategies to Basketball Camp participants in line with the USA Basketball: Youth Basketball guidelines
- Minimum 1 year of competitive Basketball experience at or above the Varsity (High School) level.
- Desire and ability to supervise, lead, and positively manage EF international students in a cooperative, team-oriented camp atmosphere.
- Ability and desire to work outside of the typical schedule to support the basketball camp schedule for irregular events/activities.
- Have the right to live and work in the country of employment
- Complete fluency in English.
