What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Machine Operator position at EFC International?
Inventory Sales, an EFC International company, is looking for a skilled Welder / Machine Operator for our St Elizabeth, MO branch. As a welder / machine operator, you will be responsible for fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using a MIG process. You will also be reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and performing quality checks on finished products. You may also be required to set up fabricating machines and design custom templates. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Welding experience is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Conducts gas metal arc welding (Mig) processes with low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
- Ability to pass AWS D1.1 structural steel welding certification in the 1G position.
- Ability to inspect all completed welds for defects and make necessary adjustments.
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Able to read measuring devices, such as tape measures.
- Constructing base templates if necessary.
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
- Setting up metalwork machinery including but not limited to saws, rollers, drill presses, cutters, brakes, and shears.
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work.
- Fabricating and constructing metal components.
- Grinding and finishing completed products.
- Performing quality checks on completed products.
- Conforming to company safety regulations.
- Completing job reports.
