What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Vice President - Branch position at EFCU Financial?
Direct and administer overall operations of the branch and shared outlet for Credit Union Cooperative Branch (CUCB) member credit unions in accordance with established policies and procedures for both. Guides branch team members in providing quality service to members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts, and solving problems within established policies and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain highly motivated, well-trained team members, maintaining effective team member relations.
- Ensure implementation of “Service Standards” by conducting daily huddles and coaching to ensure exceptional experiences and the best solutions for our members.
- Develop and implement Branch Strategic Plan.
- Work with the Vice President of Business Development in local chambers and community events. Visit local businesses and schools within the community.
- Assist in the development, application, and evaluation of EFCU’s Policies and Procedures for the branch. Ensure adherence of established policies of EFCU and CUCB.
- Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
- Assist in the preparation, implementation, and supervision of the budget for the branch that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the Credit Union.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure the Credit Union is adequately staffed with competent employees. Train, coach, and discipline branch operational team members.
- Evaluate the job performance of branch team members to ensure quality of work and service to members. Give performance reviews and recommend salary adjustments.
- Oversee the security and safety of the branch facility, team members, members, guest members, and Credit Union assets including on-going team member training on security and robbery procedures. Monitor and maintain all security systems and test on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that the branch is open and ready to conduct business each business day and that the branch is properly secured at the close of each day.
- Manage and recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies.
- Work with internal auditor to ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, teller and loan personnel sales, new accounts, etc.
- Track daily branch goals and member referrals.
- Monitor key products/sales within branch to ensure profitable and sound business practices for the Credit Union, a high quality of service for members, and team members are maximizing opportunities to provide members with the products that best fit their financial needs.
- Assist team members or members in solving complex account problems.
- Provide for handling of members and guest members requests in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner. Respond immediately to resolving problems and answering questions.
- Develop and maintain a proper professional relationship with team members, CUCB staff, associates, and guest members.
- Hold daily team huddles to keep team members engaged in goals and informed about procedures and processes. Allocate execution of member requests from various channels including online applications, phone applications, answering phone calls and escalations.
- Maintain sufficient supply of cash for daily operations.
- Perform periodic audits of Personal Financial Officers cash, vault cash, debit cards, etc. Maintain cash over/short reports monthly and provide to Vice President of Operations.
- Report cash outages in excess of $100 to the Vice President of Operations and Internal Auditor as needed.
- Assist Upper Management in preparation of Board Reports, regulatory requirements, and associated information. Prepare CUCB reports as required by the appropriate branch.
- Act as Lending Processor, open new member accounts and perform account maintenance if applicable
- Provide Notary Services if certified and on an as needed basis.
- Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch.
- Assist in other assigned duties.
Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements:
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
- Two years to five years of supervisory or related experience.
- Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and must maintain registration with NMLS as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
- Knowledgeable of Regulatory Compliance Requirements of a Depository Financial Institution.
- Experience in good customer relations.
- Lending experience preferred.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
- Must pass all credit and bond requirements.
- In depth knowledge of Credit Union products and services is a plus.
