Overview
The Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, including payroll, tax, and regulatory compliance. The role also includes comprehensive human resource administration and related activities. The Office Manager will work closely with the Vice-President of Administration and the President to ensure smooth operational functions. This position may have the support of a part-time or full-time assistant to handle routine tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- * Manage or perform all accounting functions including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and receivable
- Oversee or perform payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and ensure the company’s adherence.
- Prepare and file tax documents in coordination with outside accounting firm
- Monitor regulatory changes and update company actions and policies accordingly.
Human Resource Administration:
- Manage HR activities including, onboarding, employee relations, employee exit, and performance management.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws
- Oversee employee benefits administration and payroll
General Office Management:
- Manage office supplies and equipment maintenance.
Supervision:
- Supervise and delegate tasks to part-time or full-time assistant.
- Ensure assistant’s activities are performed accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in office management, accounting and bookkeeping. HR experience highly desired.
- Proficient in accounting software and Office365
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
