Job Summary:
The Echo Tech will perform echocardiographic studies, ensuring accurate imaging and quality patient care. This role involves working closely with cardiologists and maintaining imaging equipment while following safety and procedural protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct transthoracic, stress, and contrast echocardiograms as per department protocols.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound and Doppler equipment for accurate imaging.
- Obtain and document patient history and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
- Assist in generating preliminary reports for physician interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Perform emergency and STAT echocardiograms as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and workflow.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and completion of an accredited ultrasound program.
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) certification required.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- Experience with Cardiology PACS, vascular testing software, and hospital information systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
