The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sterile processing protocols and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and inspection of medical instruments, equipment, and trays in accordance with healthcare and regulatory standards.
- Maintain adequate levels of sterilized supplies, restocking as needed and ensuring proper rotation to meet demand in various departments.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and other specialized machinery, to ensure all instruments meet safety and efficacy standards.
- Record sterilization processes, track inventory, and update logs to maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all infection control guidelines and OSHA standards to promote a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Work closely with the surgical and nursing teams to provide necessary supplies and ensure efficient workflow across departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- CRCST or CBSPD required.
- BLS Certification Required
- 1 year of Experience as Sterile Processing Tech
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Proficient in basic computer skills for inventory and documentation.
