JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Nursing, the Director of ER will be responsible for creating an environment of patient-focused care, defining standards for quality patient care, managing and developing work-based teams for assigned shifts, training new staff, and providing leadership to the ER Clinical Team. The incumbent will ensure service, growth, development, personnel management, resource allocation, and management controls to provide consistent, high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. Duties include establishing meetings and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while aligning them with the organization's strategic goals and objectives per Joint Commission, federal, state, and local guidelines, and standard policy and procedure.
Job Requirements
Minimum Level of Education: Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing program. BSN preferred.
Formal Training: Must effectively manage a team, keeping staff motivated and productive. Excellent analytical and research skills, including meticulous accuracy and attention to detail. Must have strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills. Must have proven organizational skills with the ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. Must show maturity, good judgment and decision-making, trustworthiness, and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must have and maintain unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia and a current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience in nursing, with experience in healthcare/hospital management and/or training.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
