Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled VMware and Windows Server Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring system availability, and implementing effective solutions to improve performance and security. Type: Contract: 12 months Location: Dayton, OH. Work from Office 25% Travel. Travel: About 25% of the time to remote locations. All business travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain server environments, including Windows and Linux systems, VMware administration.
- Design and implement system architecture solutions that meet business needs.
- Oversee cloud services, particularly AWS, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Develop and manage SQL databases, including T-SQL scripting for data manipulation.
- Collaborate with development teams to support applications built in Java.
- Implement load balancing strategies to ensure high availability of services.
- Utilize Kubernetes for container orchestration and management of microservices.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Conduct regular system audits and updates to maintain security compliance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in systems administration or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL for database management tasks.
- Experience with Java programming is a plus.
- Understanding of load balancing techniques and their implementation.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
