We are looking for a dynamic and experienced [Supervisor Accountant] to join our Tax and Business Services team.
EFPR Group is seeking a Supervisor Accountant with 4 years of experience in public accounting to join its Tax and Business Services team in [Rochester, New York].. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and leading a team of professionals responsible for providing tax and business advisory services to our clients. This role will involve managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and contributing to the growth and success of our tax and business services division.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Client Management:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their business needs and providing timely and relevant tax and business advice
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries and concerns effectively
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling additional services to existing clients
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax and business services professionals
- Assign tasks, set goals and provide guidance to ensure the team’s success
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development
Tax Compliance:
- Stay current with tax laws, regulations and industry standards to provide accurate tax compliance and planning services
- Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, and other related documents
- Ensure the team adheres to established tax compliance deadlines
Business Advisory Services:
- Provide strategic business advice to clients, helping them make informed financial decisions
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement tax-efficient business strategies
- Participate in financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting processes
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of work produced by the team
- Perform regular reviews and quality checks on client deliverables
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure the organization complies with all relevant tax laws and regulations
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities as required
Business Development:
- Support the growth of the tax and business services division by identifying opportunities for new business and networking with potential clients
- Contribute to proposal development and participate in client presentations
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience in public accounting
- Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus)
- Effective leadership, interpersonal, organizational, technological and analytical skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Experience with tax research software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
- Professional demeanor, discretion and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry trends
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field a plus
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification or significant progress towards completing licensure preferred
- Five (5) years of professional accounting experience, with a focus on tax and business services, preferred
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProSystems, CCH Axcess) a plus
The position is based in Rochester, NY. Consideration will be given to qualified employees who wish to work hybrid or remotely.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
