With three facilities strategically located throughout North America, EFS-plastics Inc. is a growing recycling company that recovers plastic from residential recycling programs. Your detergent bottles, milk jugs and plastic bags can all end up at EFS, where we turn them into plastic resin pellets that can be used to make new products. Our fully automated process diverts mixed plastics from ending up in landfills, not only reducing waste but also conserving valuable resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This plastic waste is converted into high-quality, clean, reprocessed resins used by plastics processors to manufacture a variety of products, from storage and recycling bins to construction materials and consumer goods.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our facility in Hazleton, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery to ensure smooth operation and prevent downtime. If you are a motivated individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial maintenance, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot plastic bulk conveying and processing systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime, including automation, controls, and hydraulic/pneumatic system repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as greasing, oiling, and preventative maintenance, to ensure equipment longevity and smooth operation.
- Assist with water flow and heat transfer applications
- Perform welding and electrical tasks as required
- Maintain a clean, organized shop environment.
- Be available for on-call support and perform additional duties as required to ensure continuous operation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- 1-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the role
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and flexibility
- Dependable, reliable, and able to work independently in a team environment
