Position Summary:
This is a dynamic role with lots of opportunity for the right candidate to learn and grow. This position will support the Category Manager in the maximizing sales growth and profitability of key product categories for the company. In this role, you will perform routine tasks like item and cost maintenance, while also assisting in the creation and planning of marketing strategies. You will support our store teams with the resources they need to make the guests in our stores happy every day and communicate with them about relevant topics as needed. The ideal candidate will be a confident and professional communicator, will possess great time management skills and will bring a solutions-oriented perspective to the work.
Responsibilities:
1. Category Item Management – working within various software systems including PDI, D365, PowerBI & SmartSheet
- New vendor setups
- New item setups and changes, including cost changes
- Rebate maintenance
- Assist in bringing to fruition periodic vendor agreements
2. Analytics & Reporting – create, update, maintain and distribute category specific sales reports at the direction of the Category Manager (Reporting based in Excel Pivot Tables, PowerBI, etc.)
- Analyze data within the category
- Analyze promotional impacts
- Assist in regular category review preparation
- Create and interpret reports for insights on consumer behavior and how we can best meet consumer demand
- Create and interpret reports for insights on store execution and how we can better support store teams to provide the best coffee, fountain and frozen beverage offerings everyday
3. Category liaison both internally and externally
- Coordinate and help communicate new product introductions and promotional activity
- Assist with and resolve item issues in partnership with the Pricebook Team
- Write and distribute communications to the Retail Field Team through internal bulletins
- Coordinate communication on service-related matters and procedural issues to vendors
- Provide phone and email support to the Store Operations Group – timely and accurate response to questions and concerns
4. Supply chain and inventory management and collaboration
- Review and monitor Inventory Reports from internal and external teams and ensure ongoing communication around inventory levels
- Partner with Marketing Operations Team regarding item forces and distributions to stores
5. Other duties as assigned by the Category Manager

INTERNAL: Within Marketing: Advertising Team; POS/Price Book Team; Merchandising/Planogram Team Within Store Support Center: IT Department; Legal Department; Strategic Sourcing; Finance Team; Supply Chain/Warehouse Team Retail Operations Team: Retail Vice Presidents; Regional Managers; District Managers, Store Managers
EXTERNAL: Direct Vendors, Brokers, Distributors
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Accounting or Related Field
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
Minimum Experience:
Strong computer skills. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and Vlookups are in regular use), Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint, with an aptitude to quickly learn in-house systems.

Travel: 0-20% travel required
Hours & Conditions: Typically Monday – Friday, 8 hour days in office setting
Physical Requirements: Minimal physical effort required; sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
