Position Summary: Provides support to retail stores and stations by securing federal, state and local retail licensing requirements to ensure sites are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Assists and/or instructs other internal departments and personnel on requirements and tasks to be performed, and communicates to all stakeholders the status of work performed.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible the renewal and processing of federal, state and local retail store and station licenses required to operate as a retail convenience store and fuel retailer across all applicable U.S. operating jurisdictions.
- Coordinates tasks with Construction Project Managers, Retail Area Managers, and other departments as necessary to insure the timely gathering of information needed to comply with strict internal and external deadlines.
- Secures all new retail licensing, as required for new store and station openings. This requires contacting state agencies and local municipalities, establishing contacts, gathering forms, researching rules, and regularly communicating to the proper parties the status of work performed.
- Provides information and support to retail stores and staff by answering questions and handling requests.
- Resolves administrative problems by analyzing facts and identifying possible solutions.
- Assists cross-functional groups, including Finance and Marketing, on certain compliance, enforcement, and non-retail licensing needs as assigned.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Relationships: Federal, state and local agencies including Boards of Health, Revenue Departments, Liquor Agencies, Licensing Boards, Fire Departments, Store Area Managers, Store Managers, Construction Project Managers, Tax Dept, Accounts Payable, Sales Marketing and others.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree (Business or related field)
Minimum Experience: 1 to 2 years - general business office or retail environment
Preferred Experience: 3 to 5 years - retail business office environment
Licenses/Certifications: Valid state commission as a Notary Public (or ability to attain commission within first six (6) months in role) preferred
Soft Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain external contacts at state & local agencies
- Ability to work under pressure
- Team player with a “can do” attitude
- Working knowledge of licensing software (such as License HQ)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
