Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Global Corporate Controller to oversee the financial operations onsite with a premier partner in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the strategic alignment of financial processes. Your leadership will directly support the company’s growth and profitability objectives, making a meaningful impact on its success
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Oversee the preparation of global financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
- Manage the consolidation of global financial results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead global close processes and drive continuous improvements.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and international tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Design and implement robust internal controls across all global entities.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring prompt resolution of findings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Inspire and develop a global team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with regional finance teams to align accounting policies and practices.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance global financial operations.
Strategic Financial Management
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making by the executive leadership team.
- Partner with the CFO to execute financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Oversee global cash management, treasury functions, and foreign exchange risk management.
Systems & Process Optimization
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness in global financial processes.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to support operational needs.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred.
Experience
- 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in a global, publicly traded company strongly preferred.
- Expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, and international accounting standards.
- Proven success in managing global accounting teams and operations.
