Nurse Practitioner - Serving Veterans for the VA

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, focusing on infectious disease management and neonatal care. This role requires a strong foundation in medical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a medical office environment.

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide infectious disease care, including diagnosis and treatment.
• Perform medical documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 for coding and billing purposes.
• Demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge to inform patient care decisions.
• Phlebotomize patients as needed for laboratory testing.
• Provide care for infants, including those requiring neonatal ventilator support.
• Lift and assist patients as necessary while adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical systems and practices.

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure.
• Experience in infectious disease care is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
• Emergency Medicine Board Certified.
• Experience in providing infant care, particularly in a clinical setting.
• Ability to work effectively within a medical office environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
