Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager Intern include but are not limited to the following :
- Assist senior staff by observing, learning, and doing the following : Manage projects from start to finish Set up projects to meet or exceed budgetary and timing goals. Order equipment and materials. Attend job site meetings. Manage people in various trades on the job sites. Close out job with maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. Develop and foster long-term relationships with customers through quality performance of work.
- Collaborate with the project team to plan, set up, and manage construction projects.
- Navigate and use Egan’s project management systems and processes, including Milestone Based Delivery (MBD).
- Promote a positive safety culture by following Egan’s safety policies.
- Participate in construction document analysis to develop clear and consistent interpretations.
- Compose and edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures; assist with change orders, project billings, and change request pricing.
- Process day-to-day administrative items (i.e. supply requisitions, RFI’s, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, take-offs, etc.) as directed.
- Build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egan’s Mission, Vision and Values.
- Use basic understanding of financials and reporting to support a PM in related responsibilities.
- Actively participate in Egan’s Summer Internship Program and activities.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as requested / needed.
- Visit jobsites and customer sites regularly.
