POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Manager

DUTIES:
- Ensuring the continuous functioning of all plant equipment and machinery,
- Manage and co-ordinate the mechanical maintenance department operation in line with pre-determined and agreed quality standards,
- Manage and co-ordinate the team, mechanical maintenance function and stores in order to ensure costs are kept on or below the set budget target,
- Managing and responsible for multimillion Dollar/ Euro Technical projects and installations & commissioning,
- Ensure compliance with legal and internal company regulations in the areas of safety, energy, and environmental protection,
- Meet specific project targets agreed with the Plant Director Production/Technical, to liaise with production, technical and other maintenance departments regarding any maintenance and improvement requirements,
- Instruct direct reports of identified risks and necessary precautions, to then initiate and implement needed measures,
- Manage and develop the personnel in the Maintenance department, in conjunction with the HR department, applying relevant company policies and procedures regarding appraisal, development, discipline (including absence/leave), and safety,
- Supervision of installations and equipment designs using tools as AutoCAD, theodolite, levelling gear
- Conduct risk assessments for all maintenance processes throughout the plant,
- Allocate and supervise the work carried out by sub-contractors within the mechanical maintenance function,
- Verify and document the implementation and effectiveness of all maintenance measures taken.

REQUIREMENTS:
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience as Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Specialist or related.
Applicant must have 5 years’ experience with the following:
- Maintenance / reliability in an industrial environment
- Leadership in a maintenance or technical position, in wood processing facility or TFL (short cycle presses)
- Equipment of Siempelkamp (Conti Roll), Buettner, Wemhoener, Dieffenbacher, Pallmann, Steinemann, Kontra, and Ness
- SAP (e.g. MM/PM)
- Metric systems
Applicant must have demonstrative experience with the following:
- Leading in automation / mechanical / electrical field incl. managing & recruitment & developing
- Technical, disciplinary and safety leadership of a large team (100 daily, 200 at maintenance shutdowns)
- Implementing engineering maintenance best practices and operations excellence in an industrial setting
- Planning technical installation work
- Conducting safety audits and compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Leading projects related to maintenance and repairs
- Technical maintenance requirements in wood products sector
- Optimizing maintenance systems and processes to meet budgets and efficiency
- Training and development of maintenance specialists on the specialized equipment and machinery
- Energy generating plant for wood products sector
- Co-ordination and management of external contractors for installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of wood products manufacturing plant
