Director of Development - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for the full-time Director of Development position, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM -4:30 PM, with evening and weekend hours during planned events.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Director of Development will report to the VP of Marketing and Development and will be responsible for the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan for fundraising. The director will coordinate day-to-day fundraising operations, manage donor lists, identify potential funders, establish and maintain relationships with individuals and corporations, coordinate all fundraising proposal preparation, and implement fundraising-related marketing and communications strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan for fundraising.
- Coordinate day-to-day fundraising operations.
- Manage donor lists.
- Identify potential funders.
- Establish and maintain relationships with individuals and corporations.
- Coordinate fundraising proposal preparation.
- Implement fundraising marketing and communications strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of successful fundraising experience. Demonstrated experience and success in raising major gifts from individuals. Experience and proficiency in utilizing donor database software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in public speaking.

- Shareholder interests and needs
Skill in:
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and private corporate, foundation, or club funding programs.
- An established network of contacts with funding agency administrators.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate problems, solutions, and ideas effectively.
Ability to:
- Deliver exceptional service to donors, volunteers, and board members.
- Utilize critical thinking processes to facilitate decision-making.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Work independently and in team settings
- Resolve conflict and conduct contract negotiations
- Exercise good professional judgment
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
