What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Management Operative TMO position at Egis Group?
Reporting to the Traffic Management Manager the Traffic Management Operative will be responsible for installing maintaining and removing temporary traffic management as part of a Traffic Management crew. The role will include the installation of Traffic Management closures on the M40 to Chapter 8 and National Highways Sector Scheme standard deploying cones signs frames sandbags and other equipment on both high and low speed roads. You will be able to work under your own initiative and assist the Lead Traffic Management Operative in leading other members of the team and support all operational aspects of the maintenance contract on the M40 Motorway.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install planned and Emergency Traffic Management closures compliant with chapter 8 and the National Highways Sector Scheme as and when requested
- Assist the Lead Traffic Management Operative in ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and returned to the Night time Supervisors in a timely manner.
- Maintain Traffic Management closures as per Chapter 8 guidelines always ensuring the safety of the road user.
- Installation and / or removal of signed diversion routes on the M40 and local authority roads.
- Depot duties (cleaning signs and cones filling sandbags maintaining tools and equipment for example)
- Maintain vehicles and equipment related to your job and ensure they are suitable for use
- Communicate any issues with vehicles or equipment to the Lead Traffic Management Operative so they may be dealt with in a timely manner.
- Active participation in briefings and training to enable all duties to be carried out in a safe and sustainable manner.
- Active participation to maintain a positive attitude towards health safety and the environment.
- Reporting to the Lead Traffic Management Operative any hazards on site that may have the potential to cause harm to other members of the team or the General public and taking action to mitigate as required.
- Ensuring that the operations carried out comply with Company policies and procedures.
