Role Description
This is a full time onsite role.
The case manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative and logistical aspects of legal cases, including managing client files, coordinating communication between attorneys and clients, monitoring deadlines, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and ensuring smooth case progression throughout the legal process, all while working closely with attorneys and paralegals to achieve the best possible outcome for the client.
Key Responsibilities
Case intake and organization: Gather initial client information, open new case files, and organize all relevant documents electronically and physically.
Client communication: Regularly update clients on case status, answer questions, and address concerns throughout the legal process.
Deadline management: Track critical deadlines, calendar court appearances, and remind attorneys of upcoming deadliness.
Legal research and document preparation: Conduct legal research to support case strategy, draft legal documents like letters, discovery requests, and motions under attorney supervision.
Billing and expense tracking: Monitor case costs, prepare billing statements, and manage client budgets.
Coordination with outside parties: Contact insurance companies, medical providers, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information.
Case status updates: Prepare case summaries for attorneys and clients, highlighting key developments and potential issues.
Compliance management: Ensure adherence to legal and firm policies regarding case documentation and ethics.
Qualifications
- Experience in case management, preferred but onot requires
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the legal field is a plus
