Job Position: Clinic Nurse
Schedule: Monday-Wednesday (7:30-5:30), Friday (7:30-4:00)
Responsible To: Nurse Manager, Office Manager, and Medical Director
Job Summary:
Egrari Plastic Surgery Center, a world-class facility, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinic Nurse to provide exceptional nursing care to all our patients, including new patients, pre-operative and post-operative patients. This role is a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join a leading plastic surgery center.
Educational Requirements:
· Active Registered Nurse License in Washington State
· BLS certification required upon hire
· ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
Qualifications and Experience:
· At least one year of experience in an ambulatory surgical facility or hospital setting
· Experience calling in prescriptions
· Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
· Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
· Pleasant demeanor and good communication skills
· Neat and professional appearance
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
· Conduct consultations, including taking patient history and recording information in the patient's chart
· Accompany the surgeon during cosmetic consultations
· Review lab results and x-rays prior to entering the patient exam room
· Assist the surgeon in preparing for examinations and minor procedures
· Review pre-operative instructions and explain the surgical process to patients during the pre-operative appointment
· Order pre-operative tests as needed
· Perform pre-operative H&P and teaching for pre-operative patients and provide information to the surgeon
· Provide post-operative care, including seeing patients for follow-up appointments, answering questions, and removing sutures and drains
· Triage postoperative patient phone calls; answer questions and determine if patients need to come in
· Obtain needed equipment and supplies for the exam room
· Order medications and treatments in accordance with protocols and procedures Perform patient education duties; show surgical videos, hand out brochures, and direct patients to specific Internet sites for more information
· Monitor emails and respond to patient questions and phone calls
· Act as backup for Recovery Nurse/ OR nurse with proper training
Other Responsibilities:
· Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
· Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
· Maintain detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions
· Attend annual BLS and ACLS training programs
· Attend all regular meetings
· Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager or Dr. Egrari
Physical Demands:
· Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
· Standing and walking
· Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
· Normal visual acuity and hearing
· Work under stressful conditions and irregular hours
· Exposure to bodily fluids on a regular basis
Working Conditions:
· Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
