What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Engineer- Part Time position at eGym GmbH?
Job Title: Communication & Coordination Specialist
You will be the main point of contact for all matters relating to the manufacture and assembly of EGYM Smart machines, both internally with our teams and externally with system suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead internal production projects for process optimization
- Identify potential for improvement and introduce new products to existing system suppliers
- Onboard new manufacturing partners for steel components/assemblies
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships in North America to ensure smooth material flow and high-quality production standards
- Work closely with product development, procurement, and quality teams to continuously improve devices and production processes
- Carry out product changes from idea to series production, considering various influencing factors
- Create production forecasts, coordinate supplier production, and manage inventory within our ERP system
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Production/Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in an agile and lean environment
- Experience dealing with suppliers in terms of cost, quality, and supplier management
- Several years of experience in production management, either internally managed or externally at supplier sites
- In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication, including metal forming and punching, laser cutting, tube bending, robot-assisted welding, and material coatings
- Experience in PLM/ERP systems as well as CAD & PDM systems (ideally Solidworks)
- Excellent skills in supplier management, building and maintaining partnerships
- Proven success in managing supplier start-up or relocation projects within North America (a plus)
Travel Requirements:
30% of your time will be spent traveling, including domestic and international travel to suppliers in North America and blending with teams and counterparts at our headquarters in Munich, Germany.
