Purpose
R&D Intern is responsible for supporting R&D initiatives for new product and product change projects including
ideation, design, development, evaluation, and executing laboratory testing activities. This includes technical
documentation such as engineering design files, engineering reports, and risk documentation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Originate concepts including sketching, prototyping, rendering, CAD, drawings
· Execution of laboratory tests including method development, data collection and analysis and reporting
· Support prototype fabrication process including creating prototypes and documenting design specifications
· Support material, prototype, and design selection and evaluation
· Research and understand various ways products may be used to improve product designs
· Support engineering file documentation including risk analysis, verification, design history documentation.
· Ensure lab cleanliness and support organization and setup of tools, equipment, and apparatus tracking,
maintenance, and management
· Cross functional team participation and support
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
· Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar.
Qualifications
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
· Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; and
preferably Minitab. AutoCAD/Inventor skills are required for development and documentation of test apparatus.
· Must have good people, analytical, managing, collaboration and writing skills.
· Must have reliable transportation for travel to EHOB Corporate office.
