Wheel and Tire Technician
JOB SUMMARY :
The Tire and Wheel Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of tires on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and other equipment. This position requires a skilled technician with knowledge of tire technology, a strong work ethic, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, efficient, and detail-oriented in completing tire-related services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Tire Installation and Replacement : Install, mount, balance, and replace tires on customer vehicles, ensuring proper fitment and safety standards are met.
- Tire Repair : Diagnose and repair damaged tires, including punctures, leaks, and valve issues, using industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Tire Inspection : Conduct thorough tire inspections to assess wear, damage, and tire pressure. Advise customers on tire health and recommend replacements when necessary.
- Wheel Alignment Assistance : Assist with wheel alignment procedures to ensure proper tire wear and vehicle handling.
- Balancing and Rotation : Perform tire balancing and rotations to ensure smooth driving and optimal tire longevity.
- Wheel Assembly / Disassembly : Assemble the lips / barrels / faces, etc. of 2 piece and 3 piece wheels.
- Quality Control : Inspect wheels thoroughly to ensure any powder coating, polishing, etc. is up to our standards.
- General Troubleshooting : Utilize resources to troubleshoot basic issues and machinery malfunction, etc.
- Shipping and Receiving : Unbox packages of wheels and put in proper location, packing up assembled wheels and preparing for shipment.
- Customer Service : Interact with customers, explain tire-related services, provide recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management : Monitor and maintain tire inventory levels. Assist with ordering and restocking products as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance : Maintain and properly use tire service equipment, such as tire changers, wheel balancers, and lifts, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Safety and Cleanliness : Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Documentation : Record work performed, including tire services, repairs, and inspections. Maintain accurate service logs for customer records and update customers appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience : Previous experience as a tire technician or in a similar automotive service role preferred. On-the-job training may be provided for candidates with limited experience.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training in automotive service or tire-related certifications a plus.

Pay rate is $15-$30 an hour based on experience and performance.
