Job Summary
The Account Representative plays a crucial role handling inbound and outbound patient calls, addressing inquiries, resolving account issues, various clerical duties and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills, all while adhering to company policies and procedures.
**Experience with Nextgen billing software and Cardiology a plus!**
Responsibilities
- Manage patient accounts by verifying insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Communicate with billing department regarding claims issues..
- Conduct medical collections by following up on outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing staff to resolve discrepancies in billing or coding.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding their accounts, providing clear explanations of charges and payment options.
- Assisting with medical authorizations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies related to medical billing practices.
Skills
- Strong understanding of patient accounts, copays, deductibles, authorizations and medical billing process.
- Experience in medical collection processes within a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with medical office operations and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
