JOB TITLE: Solderer

DEPARTMENT: Prototype

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Solderer will be able to understand the customer needs based upon customer documentation and customer communication. The Solderer will be independent-minded yet a team player with the ability to work within a flexible schedule. This position is for those who enjoy a fast-paced environment, solving problems, having a hand in every aspect of a product build and enjoy doing something different every day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform hand soldering operations and assembly of electronic components under a microscope by pinching, grasping, and holding a soldering iron and wire solder.
• Hold boards/panels under a microscope to inspect parts.
• Use pliers, cutters, and small hand tools for various steps in board assembly .
• Complete required production documentation.
• Use of computer for basic data entry .
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager.
• Reports to the Ninja Production Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• IPC Class 2 or better soldering skills for hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components.
• Self-motivated and can work independently as well as the ability to work well with others in a group.
• Good vision and finger dexterity.
• General knowledge of electronic components.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret customer drawings specifications and instructions
• Good communication skills.
• General computer skills.
• Willingness to cross-train into different positions as needed.
• Ability to work under a microscope for up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to work in a seated position for up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and criminal background check.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. aned meet all physical requirements as outlined in this position description.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent

· 1 years of hand soldering experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Trained in IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies preferred but not required.
