For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Newark, DE on a full-time basis for the school year (with a potential Summer option). This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 12 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
Position entails a 40-hour a week commitment (school year or year round), Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00pm or 8:00-4:30, based on candidate preference. This position includes a $2,500.00 sign on bonus! $500.00 bonus paid out after teacher's 30 days of employment and then the remaining $1,500.00 paid out on last day of school.
Qualifications
- B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution
- Delaware teaching license (or the ability to obtain one within 3 months)
- Comfortable working with K-12th grade students
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
- Reliable Transportation
