Job Summary:
As a Eich Volkswagen Automotive Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact between our customers and the service department. Your role involves providing outstanding customer service, managing service requests, and ensuring that all vehicle service and repair needs are handled in a timely and professional manner. You will help customers understand the importance of maintaining their vehicles according to Volkswagen standards, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and assess their automotive service needs.
- Service Consultation: Listen to customers’ concerns, gather relevant information, and recommend appropriate maintenance and repair services.
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for services and repairs, explaining the reasons for the suggested services.
- Service Coordination: Communicate customer concerns and vehicle issues to technicians clearly and accurately. Ensure service and repairs are completed on time.
- Upsell Opportunities: Educate customers about additional services and Volkswagen-certified parts that may benefit their vehicle’s performance and longevity.
- Appointment Scheduling: Assist with scheduling service appointments and organizing work orders to maintain efficient workflow.
- Customer Follow-Up: Provide regular updates to customers during the service process, ensure all issues are addressed, and follow up after services are completed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, vehicle services, and parts used, ensuring compliance with Volkswagen’s service standards.
- Warranty and Recall Handling: Inform customers about any recalls or warranty issues and process claims as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience in a service advisor or customer service role, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and repairs, particularly Volkswagen vehicles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software related to service management (experience with CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or XTime is a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Volkswagen products, services, and warranty policies.
- Previous experience working with automotive service management software.
- ASE certification is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced dealership environment.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk around the dealership and service area.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
