Our Residential Manager in Hamilton, NJ will provide on-site direct behavioral health care support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Provides oversight to home operations and performs duties in the areas of staff supervision, operational administration, home management, therapeutic intervention, teaching skills, documentation, Individual Habitation Plan and/or Service plan development.
Shift Requirements: This is a full-time shift that will work the day shift. Days off to be determined based on needs. Must work at least one weekend day a week as part of the schedule.
Responsibilities
- Providing daily structure and coverage to the residence.
- Supervision and assistance with living skills, and personal care needs.
- Case management, and auditing medication.
- Manage transportation service.
- Crisis management.
- Recreational and social activities.
- Acts as a liaison, and advocates for the needs of the consumers.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations and corporate policies.
- Ensures that services are rendered according to EIHAB’s mission and ethical standards.
- May be expected to become certified as a Crisis Management Trainer after their initial employment with the agency.
- Performs additional duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in the areas of psychology, social work, special education with 2 years’ experience.
- At least one-year experience working with individuals diagnosed with a Developmental Disability is required.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required, with three years’ experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey, plus three years driving history, and a driving record in good standing.
- Ability to read, write and communicate well.
- Ability to document in the individual’s charts and service plans required.
- Ability to do simple math required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft, Word and Excel a plus.
- Knowledge of current principles and practices of behavioral healthcare, specific to the
- developmentally disabled population.
