Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical EIT or Electrical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in MEP electrical design and is actively preparing for or planning to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This role will provide hands-on experience in electrical design, system layouts, and project coordination for educational facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for educational buildings.
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to create accurate electrical drawings and schematics.
- Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and voltage drop calculations.
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineering teams to ensure seamless MEP integration.
- Support senior engineers in project planning, coordination, and documentation.
- Conduct field surveys and site visits as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, building codes, and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in MEP electrical design.
- Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD (Revit experience preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- EIT certification or actively working towards FE exam completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with educational facility projects (K-12 and higher education).
- Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC, NFPA, and local regulations.
- Understanding of energy-efficient and sustainable design principles.
