Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Math Tutor to join our educational team, providing targeted intervention for students in grades 2-8. This role is ideal for educators with a strong background in mathematics, including experience working with general education and special education students. Tutoring will take place on-site at the school between 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM daily, focusing on strengthening students’ foundational math skills and boosting their academic confidence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group tutoring in mathematics for students in grades 2-8.
- Develop and implement math intervention strategies to support students struggling with key concepts.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners, including special education students.
- Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages growth and confidence in math.
- Monitor student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly to ensure academic success.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to align tutoring sessions with classroom instruction.
- Utilize various teaching tools and technology to enhance math instruction.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in math instruction across elementary and middle school grade levels.
- Experience working with special education students and adapting teaching strategies to meet individualized needs.
- Prior experience as a Math Tutor, Teacher, or Math Interventionist is highly preferred.
- Ability to create engaging, student-centered lessons that align with curriculum standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, educators, and parents.
- Availability to tutor on-site at the school from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM daily.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 30 per week
