We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to provide in-person tutoring in Acton, MA, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Monday through Friday.
Job Overview
The Special Education Paraprofessional will support students with diverse learning needs in a one-on-one tutoring setting, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children on the autism spectrum and will be able to adapt instruction to meet each student’s unique challenges. Strong communication and behavioral management skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized in-person tutoring in Acton, MA, following each student’s IEP goals and learning objectives.
- Assist in implementing structured, engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ academic levels and special education needs.
- Utilize behavioral strategies and reinforcement techniques to encourage student participation and engagement.
- Support students with daily academic tasks, social interactions, and skill development.
- Facilitate communication between students and staff, using techniques such as American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication aids if needed.
- Work closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and areas for improvement.
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM for in-person tutoring in Acton, MA.
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral support strategies is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of IEP implementation and special education best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- American Sign Language (ASL) experience is a plus but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week
