Job Overview:
Einstein Tutoring is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Special Education Paraprofessional to support high school students with developmental disabilities in one-on-one or small group settings. Our team specializes in personalized academic support, and this role is essential in helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally as they navigate the challenges of high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with lead tutors and educators to implement individualized lesson plans and IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for high school students.
- Provide targeted support in core subjects such as literacy, high school-level math (e.g., Algebra, Geometry), and executive functioning skills, while also addressing behavior management strategies.
- Support students in managing academic workloads, preparing for standardized tests, completing assignments, and staying organized.
- Encourage and assist students in developing strong social skills, confidence, and independence as they prepare for post-secondary life.
- Maintain regular documentation of student progress and share insights with the broader educational team.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment in alignment with Einstein Tutoring’s mission of empowering every learner.
- Participate in professional development to enhance knowledge of special education practices and adolescent development.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, especially in a high school setting, is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in high school-level literacy and math content, and familiarity with behavior intervention strategies.
- Understanding of lesson planning, curriculum adaptation, and IEP implementation for secondary students.
- Experience in private school, public school, or Montessori environments is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with tutors, teachers, families, and school teams.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with special needs and helping them succeed during their high school journey.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
