Job Overview
The Special Education Paraprofessional plays a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs in a classroom setting. Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Support students in their academic tasks, including literacy education and math activities.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive student behavior and engagement.
- Help maintain classroom management to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce skills taught in the classroom.
- Assist in the development and modification of IEPs as needed, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met.
- Provide support during assessments and evaluations, helping to track student progress.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all students, including those with developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to adapt lessons and materials for preschool or other educational settings.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a private school or similar educational environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies for working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, and lesson planning is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and classroom management practices is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $60.00 per hour
