We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to provide in-person tutoring in Framingham, MA, with a strong background in working with students with special needs.
Position Overview
The Special Education Paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning challenges. This role involves working closely with teachers, school administrators, and families to implement personalized instruction and behavioral strategies that foster academic growth and social development. The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and experienced in adapting lesson plans to accommodate various learning styles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group in-person tutoring for students in Framingham, MA.
- Assist in implementing IEP goals and modifying lessons to fit students’ unique learning needs.
- Utilize specialized instructional techniques to support literacy, math, and comprehension skills.
- Foster student engagement by implementing behavioral support strategies and structured routines.
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents, teachers, and school staff.
- Collaborate with educational specialists, therapists, and school teams to support student success.
- Help students with daily academic tasks, social interactions, and classroom engagement.
- Maintain a safe and structured learning environment that encourages student participation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be available Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM, for in-person tutoring in Framingham, MA.
- Reliable transportation required to travel to tutoring locations.
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs is required.
- Strong understanding of IEPs, behavioral intervention techniques, and differentiated instruction.
- Background in child development, special education, or literacy education is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods or alternative education approaches is a plus but not required.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $65.00 per hour
