Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and special education staff to facilitate effective learning experiences for students with disabilities, including autism and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Provide support in literacy education and math instruction tailored to each student's needs.
- Facilitate classroom management by helping maintain a positive learning environment.
- Support students with daily activities, including personal care and social skills development.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials for students with varying abilities.
- Utilize American Sign Language as needed to communicate effectively with students.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education practices and strategies.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff regarding student performance.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities, is preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and classroom management techniques is highly desirable.
- Experience in literacy education, math instruction, or toddler care will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of private school settings or specialized educational environments is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.

Pay: $35.00 - $65.00 per hour
