Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of IEPs and support students in achieving their educational goals.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in literacy, math, and other subjects as needed.
- Support behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills among students.
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and adapt lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Engage in childcare activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere by promoting acceptance and understanding among peers.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding academic performance and behavioral issues.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in literacy education, math instruction, or lesson planning is preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and behavior management techniques is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those on the autism spectrum or in a private school setting, is a plus.
- Understanding of Montessori or preschool educational philosophies can be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and students.
