Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing instructional activities tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Support students in their daily activities, including academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care as needed.
- Help develop and adapt curriculum materials to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and address challenges effectively.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
- Implement literacy education strategies to support reading and writing skills among students.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language is a plus.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and early childhood education principles.
- Strong understanding of childhood development and effective childcare practices.
- Proficiency in behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to educate and engage students with varying abilities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
