Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated tutor to provide hybrid tutoring support for a 9th-grade student located in Hingham, MA. This role involves working with the student both virtually and in-person (approximately 50% of the time) in the subjects of English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and skilled at working with students who experience extreme anxiety. Your role will involve not only academic instruction but also creating a calm and supportive environment to help the student thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized ELA and Math instruction tailored to the student’s learning style and needs.
- Conduct in-person tutoring sessions (50% of the time) at a location in or near Hingham, MA, with the remaining sessions conducted virtually.
- Build rapport with the student and create a supportive, anxiety-sensitive learning environment.
- Utilize engaging and effective teaching strategies to help the student overcome academic challenges.
- Monitor the student’s progress and provide regular feedback to parents, school staff, and Einstein Tutoring LLC as required.
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the student’s education plan, if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, a relevant subject area, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience tutoring or teaching ELA and Math at the high school level.
- Proven ability to work with students who experience anxiety or other emotional challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the student.
- Reliable transportation for in-person sessions in the Hingham area.
- Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $65.00 per hour
