Job Summary
Einstein Tutoring is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Tutor to support students with diverse learning needs. Candidates must be available between 9:00 AM – 11:00/12:00 PM for at least 2-3 days a week. The ideal tutor will have experience with individualized education strategies, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and recreational therapy to create engaging and effective learning experiences. This role focuses on enhancing academic skills, social development, and confidence in students within a supportive, one-on-one, or small-group setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to encourage positive learning behaviors.
- Provide academic support in math, reading, and writing, adjusting instructional methods to suit different learning styles.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to track progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Integrate recreational therapy and music therapy techniques into lessons to make learning more dynamic and interactive.
- Mentor students in social skills development, particularly in areas related to autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, assessments, and communication with families and educational teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Must be available between 9:00 AM – 11:00/12:00 PM for at least 2-3 days per week.
- Experience working with students with autism, learning disabilities, or other special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong lesson-planning and instructional design skills with the ability to create engaging, adaptive learning experiences.
- Excellent proofreading, written, and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and educators.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students academically and socially.
- Certification in music therapy, recreational therapy, or ABA techniques is a plus.
