Live-In Caregiver
Florence, NJ
Looking for a live-in caregiver for a young man with developmental disabilities, who lives in his own home. This role requires residing in the home for at least five (5) nights per week and actively participating in the person’s daily life, ensuring their safety, well-being and independence.
He loves to listen to music, playing pool, swimming and being outside. Keeping him busy and engaged and following a schedule is very important to him and his family. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, following behavior plans, using de-escalation, energetic and caring. You will be a resident of the home and have your own bedroom with the remaining considered a shared space.
Responsibilities will include BUT not limited to:
- Meal planning and preparation
- Medication preparation, administration and first aid as needed
- House maintenance and light cleaning, laundry and organization
- Support the person in community activities, shopping and appointments.
- Assisting with de-escalation and following behavior plan
- Provide companionship, offer support and encourage independence
- Emergency coverage for vacation and call outs
- Being a team player and providing communication between all staff and family
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of services provided, progress notes and incident reports.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to have a background check, drug screen and fingerprinting done.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle for transportation.
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Direct Support Professional preferred
Rent and utilities will be paid for the live-in caregiver plus a $1000 monthly stipend.
Schedule:
- Overnight 5 nights per week, flexible days for the right candidate (option to stay all seven).
- Live-in position
- Additional DSP hours also available
- Flexible depending on needs and desires.
- Per-diem (as needed)
Salary:
- $23 per hour for additional DSP shift hours.
