Direct Support Professional
Location: Piscataway
Looking for a caring, engaging, and patient direct support professional for a blind young man with developmental disabilities. He enjoys playing the piano, swinging on the swings, going for walks and more. The DSP will provide one-to-one mentoring support in a variety of daily activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- Assisting with light cleaning
- Toileting and bathing
- ADL’s
- Laundry
- Meal preparation
- Assisting at meal time
- Dressing
- Leisure activities
This person lives in their own home with their family, this is not a group home.
Job Types: Part-time
Salary: Starting at $25.00 per hour. *Starting at $25.00 with potential for increase
Schedule:
- Monday 7am-9am, 3pm-9pm
- Tuesday 7am-9am, 3pm-9pm
- Friday 3pm-9pm
- Sunday 7:30am-11:30am – 1x monthly
- Saturday 6pm-10pm 2x monthly
- Mornings
- Evenings
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Developmental disabilities experience: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Candidates must clear a background check and drug screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for transportation.
- Experience supporting people with complex needs is preferred but not required.
- Reliability is essential.
- Training will be provided.

Expected hours: 8 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
