Direct Support Professional

We are currently looking for a strong, caring and patient DSP for a young man with developmental disabilities. This individual lives in his own home with his family. This is not a group home setting. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of behavior management techniques as well as being patient with OCD tendencies.
We are looking for someone who can provide gentle encouragement and participating in singing and dancing. Also motivate the individual to get outside when the weather is appropriate. Patience is very important to the family.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with daily chores
- Assistance with laundry
- Take out the garbage
- Fold towels
- Empties the dishwasher
- Assist with preparing meals and clean up
- Assist with DLS
Interests include:
- Art
- Creating and listening to music
- Going for a ride in the car to Mc Donald's
- Playing Roblox/video games
- Disney/cartoon Characters
- Watching music videos
- Drawing
- Creates animation movies
- Playing instruments
- Singing & dancing
Requirements:
- You must be willing to have a drug screen and fingerprinting background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for transportation.
- Training will be provided
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities for at least a year is a requirement.
Job Types: Part-time
Pay Rate: Starting from $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 26 hours per week
Schedule:
- Monday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Tuesday 9:00 am-12:00 pm
- Wednesday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Thursday 9:00 am-12:00 pm
- Friday 9:00 am-1:00 pm
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
