Direct Support Professional
Location: West Orange, New Jersey
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced individual to provide support to a young man in his home. The ideal candidate will be kind-hearted, motivated, and ready to engage with a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparing meals, including breakfast and other meals throughout the day.
- Administer medication as needed.
- Support with daily activities, such as getting ready for the day.
- Engage in relaxing activities, including using an iPad, playing simple board games, and participating in sensory play.
- Encouraging and assisting with cleaning up messes.
- Assisting with toileting and reminders to wash hands.
The right individual will be dedicated to making a positive impact and providing quality care in a home setting.
Experience:
- At least 2 years experience as a paraprofessional and/or DSP
- You will be required to have a background check and drug screen completed.
- No smoking permitted on the property/grounds of the residence.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for transportation.

- Sundays 9:00 am- 6:00 pm.
- Per Diem: Early dismissals, Holidays, days off, etc.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Every weekend
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Developmental disabilities: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
