We currently have an opening for a DSP in the Mercer County area for a part-time companion for a 27-year-old young man who is interested in spending time in his community.
The ideal candidate must enjoy going out in the community, be available to provide input and redirection when needed, have a positive attitude and make suggestions about activities this young man is interested in. Providing input on what this young man does is important to him.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assist in identifying activities and events to participate in and around the community.
- Transportation to and from activities in the community
- Going to the movies
- Going out to eat
- Shopping and/or errands
- Local sporting events
- Golf
- Bowling
Requirements:
- You must be willing to have a drug screen, be fingerprinted, and complete a background check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for transportation.
- Familiar with redirection.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Job Type: Part-time and Per-Diem
Schedule: Late afternoons, Monday through Friday, Per-Diem for Some weekends
- For example, 2pm to 6pm or 8pm
- Must be open to a flexible schedule as determined by the customer
Pay rate: $22 per hour
