Main Roles and Responsibilities
The permanent target is to deliver its budget commitment measured through gross margin and inventory levels, which means:
- Set targets for their Plant
- Secure foundations in their perimeter: safety of employees; adequate customer satisfaction: quality and on-time deliveries; empowered employees and work force
- Manage P&L to drive the appropriate actions with the plant management team; to adapt their Plant resources and costs to volume variation & strategic plan perspective
- Secure new programs launch preparation and contribute to business plan convergence
- Ensure respect for the environment and secure Internal Control of the Plant
- Promote and ensure the respect of the code of ethics and code of management.

Deliver budget commitments, in terms of Gross Margin, Inventory, Capex:
- Manage variable margin: direct labor efficiency and productivity / material cost consumption / scrap and rework reduction / Inbound & outbound freight costs
- Manage fixed cost: indirect labor / manufacturing costs / machine amortization, etc.
- Use Capex to support Plant continuous improvement and address mandatory requirements, contribute to program Capex optimization with Program teams with best possible utilization of existing assets
- Manage inventories: appropriate information system and physical flow in the plant.
- Set plant lay out for optimal flow and efficient use of equipment: capacity, reliability, operating costs, CAPEX control
- Drive supplier performance improvement, and contribute to material cost reduction with Purchasing Department
- Support Sales Department for customer claims negotiation
Set targets and develop improvement plans accordingly;
- Drive continuous and breakthrough improvement through plant priorities and resources and align with Strategic Plan business targets using EPS tools and methodologies to support execution
- Participate in Strategic Plan construction to confirm Plant mid-term vision and future
Secure new program launches:
- Act within program team as early as acquisition, to create best conditions for production, and ensure competitiveness / profitability of the new programs.
- Ensure plant readiness for flawless program launches, through creation of a Plant Launch team, weekly review of launch preparation activities, staffing of resources to support program launch and ramp up
Deploy EPS:
- Drive EPS implementation by appropriate training and coaching of their management team on EPS tools and expertise, necessary to achieve targeted operational performance
- Require support from Sister Plants when necessary (need for training, closure of performance gap)
Develop talent and prepare future managers:
- Develop team through EGA values
- Ensure proper resources and reservoir management of their Plant teams (anticipating staffing and reinforcement, monitoring coverage rate of succession plans)
- Ensure individual people performance and development (continuous and regular individual feedback, coaching and training)
Qualifications
Professional:
- Recommended 5 years of TPS (or equivalent) practice at Plant level.
- Recognized experience and ability to improve process KPIs in a plant by using EGA principles.
- Proven experience in a management/leadership role in a plant.
- Previous working experience of program environment (PLTL, PMS) is a plus.
- Continuous improvement mind-set and ability to master change.
- Full P&L (and levers for P&L improvement) understanding.
- Working knowledge of TPS tools including ability to lead and execute the tools on.
Personal:
- Coaching and influencing/persuasion skills.
- Developed communication skills, ability to negotiate mainly internally and often at higher levels.
- Fluent English language knowledge
- Problem diagnosis and analytic skills to understand contexts and define/ support the definition of action plans.
- Customer and business understanding: ability to understand and manage the different customer requirements and work within matrix environment.
